R Madhavan, aka Maddy, is a beloved actor with a massive fan following. He was once the poster boy for romantic movies, and everyone was enamoured by his on-screen persona, ‘Maddy’, in the 2001 film, Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein. However, he recently got mired in a controversy, when some fans alleged that he was flirtatiously chatting with young girls on Instagram. He has now cleared the air about the same.
R Madhavan addresses his Instagram chat controversy
Maddy recently spoke at an app launch event in Chennai and addressed rumours suggesting that he frequently chats with young girls on Instagram. Madhavan recalled a young fan messaging him on Instagram, praising his performance in a film and showering him with compliments. He said:
“I am an actor. I have all these people messaging me on Instagram and social media. I’ll tell you a simple example. A young girl messages me. ‘I saw this movie. I really loved it. I thought you’re a fabulous actor. Well done. You motivate me.’ And at the end of it, she puts lots of hearts and kisses and love symbols.”
