Ramayanaâs First Song Jai Jai Ram Released Featuring AR Rahman Arijit Singh and Shreya Ghoshal

The first song for Ramayana has finally been released. With music composed by A.R. Rahman, written by Kumar Vishwas, and sung by the melodious combo of Arijit Singh and Shreya Ghoshal, the song finally lifted the curtain on the first day of Ganesh Chaturthi, September 14, 2026.

The song is a full-blown devotional anthem to Lord Rama, gracefully blending the devotional chants of an aarti under the charm of a cinematic atmosphere. The song radiates a spiritual pull, with echoes of Lord Rama’s greatness spreading good vibes. We also get to see more stills of Ranbir Kapoor taking on the avatar of Lord Rama, and he is seemingly portraying the simplistic charm to full effect.

The filmmaker and producer, Namit Malhotra, stated that the track was meant to instill a pure connection with Lord Rama. He said, “Shri Ram is at the heart of Ramayana and, for generations, has been the guide we turn to through every phase of life. In moments of darkness, we seek his strength. In moments of uncertainty, we look to his path. And in moments of joy, we remember him with gratitude. ‘Jai Jai Ram’ comes from that deeply personal and timeless relationship we share with Shri Ram.”
He also mentioned the reasoning behind the release of this soulful track on this particular day. He continued, “Beginning this musical journey on Ganesh Chaturthi felt especially meaningful because, in our culture, every auspicious beginning starts by seeking the blessings of Lord Ganesha.”

A.R. Rahman expressed how the foundation of the composition revolved around the intimacy of a prayer. He said, “At the heart of ‘Jai Jai Ram’ is the simple and powerful repetition of Shri Ram’s name. Musically, the intention was to preserve the purity and intimacy of a prayer while allowing the composition to grow into a cinematic song.”

He also shared how the song was not intended to express Lord Rama’s greatness but to communicate the relationship he shared with his devotees. He added, “‘Jai Jai Ram’ are three simple words, yet within them lies a complete prayer. While writing the song, my endeavour was not to describe Shri Ram, because his meaning cannot be contained in words, but to express the relationship every devotee shares with him: “As our guide, our strength, and our refuge,” he said.
Ramayana Part One is set to release in theatres on November 5, 2026.
