Report: Deepika Padukone Shoots Through Her Third Trimester for Raaka

Deepika Padukone is continuing to shoot for her upcoming film Raaka while in the third trimester of her pregnancy.

According to a recent report by Variety India, the actress has been filming for the Atlee directorial every day and is aiming to complete her portions before taking maternity leave. The report states that despite previously advocating for structured eight-hour workdays and work-life balance, Deepika has been working night shifts to wrap up the film’s schedule.

The report further mentions that the actress has been filming physically demanding action sequences while balancing work commitments during her pregnancy. A crew member, quoted by the publication, shared that Deepika was determined to finish the project before taking a break.

The crew member said, “She was determined to do everything to complete the film before she takes a maternity break. Some of the action sequences are very demanding, almost gruelling, but despite the challenges, she has been able to accomplish this. It is inspiring for everyone on the sets to see Deepika perform like this. Not to forget, she has a one-and-a-half-year-old daughter at home, who she also gets her unwavering attention.”

Deepika had welcomed her daughter, Dua, with her husband Ranveer Singh in September 2024. The actress has largely stayed away from the spotlight over the past year, making selective public appearances while balancing motherhood and her professional commitments.

Raaka marks Deepika’s first collaboration with director Atlee. The film also stars Allu Arjun in the lead and is billed as a sci-fi action entertainer. It is currently slated for a theatrical release in 2027. Besides Raaka, the actress will also be seen in Shah Rukh Khan’s upcoming film King, which is slated for a theatrical release on December 24, 2026.
