Ryan Gosling has been on the frontline of the news for a while, and it’s for all the right reasons. Whether it is being the actor/producer responsible behind the success of Project Hail Mary or being casted as Ghost Rider for the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), he has been busy. Now, adding on to this list of his successful projects, the next one he has set an eye on is the Flintstones.
Flintstones have been a household name for generations, with their first ever release dating back to the year 1960. However, in the recent few decades, there has not been much noise from the franchise, leading to the family going back to hiding under their rock of a home. Ryan Gosling seems to have an idea to bring back The Flintstones with an ambitious vision to connect the family with not just the older generation but the younger generation as well.
He plans to do this by focusing the show on an underutilized character, Bamm-Bamm. Just in case you were living under a rock with the Flintstones, let us take you over this. As per the lore, Bamm-Bamm is the adopted-son of Barney and Betty Rubble, whom they found at their doorstep. The young and powerful Bamm-Bamm possessed the power to create impressive feats like lifting heavy objects with utmost ease. Cut forward to a spin-off, The Pebbles and Bamm-Bamm Show. Bamm-Bamm goes on to marry Pebbles, the daughter of Fred and Wilma Stone.
Not only does Ryan Gosling want to make this live-adaptation of the Bamm-Bamm movie, but he also wishes to star in it as the main lead. The similarities are uncanny, and we can already see it, considering his all-blonde look in his Ken avatar from Barbie.
We have already seen a successful live adaptation of the Flintstones in 1994. The movie went on to become a cult classic amongst its fans with a very believable portrayal of the family by Fred (John Goodman) and Wilma (Elizabeth Perkins).
