Scarpetta plotline
In the present timeline, which takes place in 2026, Chief Medical Examiner ‘Kay Scarpetta’ can be seen arriving at a murder scene where she finds the dead body of a woman named ‘Gwen.’ Apparently, the MO of the murders have a lot of similarities with those that took place more than a decade ago, in 1998. It is revealed that the 1998 investigation was also led by ‘Kay.’ In the 8 episodes of Scarpetta, the story unfolds side by side in the 2026 and 1998 timelines, letting viewers in on details about the murders. Additionally, it also reveals all those things which may or may not have gone wrong in the investigation, which is also responsible for making ‘Kay’s’ career.
