The show was announced on Netflix’s Next on Netflix India event held in Mumbai on February 3, 2025. Shah Rukh Khan took centre stage to introduce his son’s debut series, The Ba***ds of Bollywood. The series will mark Aryan’s official debut into the world of filmmaking, not as an actor but as a creator, writer, and director, bringing his vision of cinema to the world.

What was interesting about the announcement at the Netflix event was that Shah Rukh Khan had flown in solo to promote the film. However, Gauri Khan and Aryan Khan’s absence from the event didn’t go unnoticed, and even SRK addressed them missing from the occasion. He humorously acknowledged why he was at the announcement event alone and stated:
“They think if me as the chicken of the house. They sent me away and said, everyone will show their own show, we will show you.”
