Athiya Shetty and KL have welcomed a baby girl. The happy couple announced the big news in a post on Instagram last evening. As congratulations poured in from all quarters, the highlight was Athiya’s father Suniel Shetty’s heartfelt reaction.
Suniel Shetty is officially become a nana. The actor’s daughter Athiya Shetty has welcomed her first child with husband, cricketer KL Rahul. The two took to their Instagram handles to share a joint post. It features an illustration of two watercolour swans in a pond with flowers. The announcement reads, “Blessed with a Baby Girl. 24.03.2025. Athiya & Rahul.”

They simply captioned the post with a cute baby emoji. The couple hasn’t shared their baby girl’s name yet.

Earlier, Suniel Shetty shared that conversations in his family had been entirely focused around the baby on the way since Athiya announced her pregnancy back in November last year. The actor also recalled that his wife Mana Shetty looked the most beautiful when she was pregnant.
Athiya Shetty and KL Rahul’s relationship
Athiya and KL Rahul tied the knot in an intimate ceremony on January 23, 2023. Their wedding was held at Suniel Shetty’s farmhouse in Khandala. After their marriage, the two often shared glimpses of their personal life on social media. Athiya made appearances in the stands during KL Rahul’s matches. Recently, Athiya cheered for Rahul as he played against New Zealand alongside team India at the ICC Champions Trophy. She shared a photo flaunting her baby bump as Rahul delivered a match-winning performance.
