After months of anticipation, the much-talked-about sequel to the blockbuster HanuMan is finally moving forward. Jai Hanuman, the next chapter in the celebrated Prasanth Varma Cinematic Universe (PVCU), has reportedly set its formal launch ceremony for February 22. Interestingly, the launch venue holds spiritual significance, as the muhurat for the ambitious sequel will be held at Anjanadri Betta in Hanumanahalli near Hampi, Karnataka.
Jai Hanuman, an ambitious mythological spectacle
The event promises to mark a grand beginning for what could be one of Telugu cinema’s most ambitious mythological projects in recent times. The pooja will signal the official start of the film, with the principal cast and key crew expected to attend the ceremony before the regular shoot begins. Mythri Movie Makers, known for backing large-scale ventures, has confirmed the schedule and stated that principal photography will commence shortly after the launch. Leading the cast is Kannada star Rishab Shetty, who will step into the divine role of Lord Hanuman for the first time, while HanuMan actor Teja Sajja is also part of the ensemble in an important role.
Rana to join Jai Hanuman?
In another interesting development, rumours suggest that Rana Daggubati may also join Jai Hanuman. According to industry buzz, the Baahubali actor could feature in a significant role in the mythological fantasy, although the makers have not officially confirmed his involvement. Helmed by director Prasanth Varma, the film aims to expand the mythological narrative established in the first instalment, focusing more closely on the legend of Hanuman. With a reputed technical team coming together, Jai Hanuman is shaping up to be a pan-Indian spectacle blending devotion, mythology and modern cinematic scale. An official announcement regarding the film’s release window is expected once production is underway, but the February 22 launch has already set the stage for a grand cinematic journey.
