UK MP Bob Demands Govt Apology On Jallianwala Bagh Tragedy Post ‘Kesari Chapter 2’ Trailer Buzz

India has long history of struggle and turmoil that peaked under British rule. One of the darkest chapters in the colonial era of India remains the Jallianwala Bagh Massacre in 1919, which shook the entire nation. Despite thousands of innocent people losing their lives in the incident, the British Empire or the modern-day UK government never apologised for it, which remains an unsaid demand from countless Indians. Recently, the demand for an apology gained momentum after the trailer of Akshay Kumar starrer Kesari Chapter 2 reminded Indians of the pain their ancestors felt years ago.

UK MP Bob Blackman asks the UK government to apologise for the Jallianwala Bagh Massacre

Everyone, including the British, knew that General Dyer’s order to shoot at innocent people was unfair. Despite that, an apology never arrived. After Kesari Chapter 2‘s heartfelt trailer once again touched on the topic, netizens began a discussion on the same. Amid that, the demands reached London, where Bob Blackman, a member of the UK Parliament, asked the movement to issue a long-demanding apology. He said:

“Today, I raised the Jallianwala Bagh Massacre. I asked the Govt to formally give an apology to the people of India ahead of the atrocities anniversary. On April 13, 1919, families gathered very peacefully in the Jallianwala Bagh to enjoy the day out with their families. General Dyer, on behalf of the British army, marched his troops in and ordered his troops to fire on those innocent people until they ran out of ammunition.
