Vidya Balan Slams Misleading AI-Generated Videos Featuring Her

Vidya Balan has addressed the spread of a viral video featuring her, clarifying that it is AI-generated and does not reflect her views or work. Taking to Instagram, the actress has issued a strong statement urging people to verify content before sharing and to be mindful of misleading AI-generated material.

The actress shared a video post explaining the situation and wrote, “There are multiple videos currently circulating on social media and WhatsApp, which appear to feature me. However, I want to clarify that the videos are AI-generated and inauthentic. I have no involvement in its creation or dissemination, nor do I endorse its content in any way. Any claims made in the videos should not be attributed to me, as it does not reflect my views or work. I urge everyone to verify information before sharing and be cautious of misleading AI-generated content.”

In the clip she put as an example in her post, Vidya is seen sitting on a sofa and greeting her fans. “Hey, main hoon aap sabki favourite Vidya Balan,” she seemingly says in the AI-generated video. She has posted the video, stating, “Scam Alert!”

Several fans supported her in the comments, urging the authorities to take stricter action on AI-generated content and its negative usage. The actress has also asked her fans to be vigilant and cautious. Previously, many actors, including Amitabh Bachchan had flagged AI as a threat to the film industry. “One of the things that is of great concern is Al and a lot of people are objecting to the fact that all of us are now being subjected to face mapping. Our entire body is going to be face-mapped and will be kept aside and can be used at any point in time. It is coincidental that just yesterday, a famous studio in Mumbai gave me a demonstration of face mapping,” the senior actor had noted.
