Farhan Akhtar is gearing up to make another Don movie. While Shah Rukh Khan has not been approached for the same, the new movie will be made with Ranveer Singh. During an interview with India Today, Akhtar opened up about Don 3 and when the movie is scheduled to go on floors.
Confirming that he does not want to dodge questions about Don 3, Akhtar noted that they are planning to begin shooting soon. “Don 3 is starting this year, and 120 Bahadur will release at the end of the year,” he added. Alongside Ranveer Singh, the movie will also see Kiara Advani in the lead.
A report by News18 had also suggested that the movie was in its pre-production stage. “And the prep on the same will begin next year in March as apart from Farhan, Ranveer is also busy with Aditya Dhar’s untitled next and recently embraced fatherhood,” the report had further added.
Farhan Akhtar is also currently busy wrapping up 120 Bahadur. A movie on the late Major Shaitan Singh Bhati, it will explore his role in the Battle of Rezang La in 1962 and his subsequent Param Vir Chakra win. As for Ranveer Singh, the actor welcomed his first child with Deepika Padukone. They have named their little girl Dua Padukone Singh. He is also currently working with Aditya Dhar on a movie.
Many had also predicted that Don 3 was being postponed or shelved. However, such rumours have taken the backseat as Farhan Akhtar confirmed the release date for the movie. A spokesperson had also previously stated that the timelines for Don 3 would remain unchanged. The press note had further added, “With the timelines firmly in place, the mandates for Don 3 remain ambitious — delivering a cinematic spectacle that lives up to the franchise’s legacy while setting new benchmarks.”
