
Saylor Hayes, a nonverbal autistic child who hailed from the Bristol area of Washington County, died as she and her family were vacationing in South Carolina. The five-year-old girl went missing while she wandered away from their family’s rental home, where they were enjoying their stay in the Pawleys Island area of South Carolina on August 30, 2026.
Saylor Hayes’ parents had a series of child neglect cases
Saylor Hayes’ parents John Herb Hyes III (70) and Geordyn Nichole Hyes (31) have been arrested after their five-year-old daughter was found dead in the waterway in Pawleys Island, South Carolina. However, a report by Fit News revealed that the Virgina couple had previsously faced child abuse allegations in their home state as per the court documents they obtained.
