Priyanka Mohan Named Honorary Ambassador for Korea Tourism

Actor Priyanka Mohan has added another milestone to her growing career, having been appointed as an Honorary Ambassador for the Korea Tourism Organization. Sharing the news with fans on social media, the actor posted photographs from the ceremony and reflected on what the recognition means to her.

Expressing her gratitude, Priyanka wrote, “Beyond grateful for this incredible honour. Being appointed as the Honorary Ambassador for Korea Tourism is truly very special to me. I’m sincerely thankful to the Korean government and the Korea Tourism Organization for recognising me as someone who can help bring Korean culture closer to Indian audiences.”

She further highlighted her admiration for the country and its people, adding, “Korea’s culture, traditions, and warmth have always inspired me, and I’m very happy to be part of this beautiful journey. A heartfelt thank you to the President of the Korea Tourism Organization for the trust, kindness, and warm welcome. Looking forward to everything ahead.”

The appointment marks a significant cultural bridge between India and South Korea, with Priyanka expected to play a role in promoting Korean tourism and cultural exchange among Indian audiences. Over the last decade, Korean entertainment, cuisine and lifestyle have found an increasingly enthusiastic following in India, making such collaborations particularly relevant.

For Priyanka, the honour also reflects her growing visibility beyond the film industry. The actor has steadily built a strong fan base across multiple South Indian film industries, earning recognition for her performances as well as her public presence.

A growing connection with South Korea

Priyanka’s association with South Korea has been steadily strengthening over the past year. Earlier, she was among the notable Indian personalities invited to Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi for a state dinner attended by South Korean President Lee Jae Myung. The event highlighted the cultural and diplomatic ties between the two countries and brought together representatives from various fields.

Her latest recognition also arrives in the wake of Made in Korea, directed by Ra Karthik, which premiered on Netflix earlier this year. In the film, Priyanka portrayed a young woman whose life takes an unexpected turn after being deceived by her boyfriend and stranded in South Korea. The project introduced audiences to a story set against a Korean backdrop and further connected the actor with the country in the public imagination.

While the ambassadorial role adds a new dimension to her career, Priyanka remains one of the busiest actors in South Indian cinema. She was recently announced as part of filmmaker Mari Selvaraj’s upcoming project Manjanathi, a film that has already generated significant interest as it marks the director’s first collaboration with legendary composer Ilaiyaraaja.

The actor also has an exciting slate of projects lined up across industries. Among them are 666 Operation Dream Theatre, Vetri Maaran’s Arasan and an untitled film opposite Kavin. The diverse lineup reflects her continued popularity among filmmakers and her ability to balance commercial entertainers with more performance-driven roles.

Having begun her journey with supporting appearances before emerging as a leading actor in Tamil and Telugu cinema, Priyanka has steadily expanded her profile through a mix of successful films and carefully chosen projects. Her latest appointment as Honorary Ambassador for Korea Tourism now adds an international cultural dimension to that journey.

As Korean culture continues to enjoy immense popularity in India, Priyanka’s new role positions her as a key face in fostering greater engagement between the two countries. For the actor, it is both a recognition of her growing influence and an opportunity to contribute to a larger cultural conversation beyond cinema.
