Asha Bhosleâs Last Feature Film Song to Release on Her Birth Anniversary

Late legendary playback singer Asha Bhosle’s iconic voice is set to return to the big screen for one last time with her last recorded film song. The legendary playback singer’s unreleased track, Ae Meri Zindagi, Tu Chupi Hai Kahan, will feature in the upcoming drama-comedy Om Ka Hari.

Recorded by Asha Bhosle before her passing, the song is scheduled to release on September 8, coinciding with what would have been her 93rd birth anniversary. The release will mark a poignant final appearance for the celebrated singer, whose voice has remained an integral part of Indian cinema for decades.

Anshuman Jha, who plays the lead in Om Ka Hari, recently opened up about Asha Bhosle’s song being featured in the film.

Speaking to Hindustan Times, Anshuman said, “Om Ka Hari is deeply special to me because, at its heart, it is about the importance of saying ‘I love you’ to your father, something I never got the chance to do.”

Anshuman Jha also spoke about the significance of Asha Bhosle’s vocals in Om Ka Hari, describing the experience as deeply meaningful. He said, “To have Asha Ji’s voice carry the song that represents the catharsis of the film is one of the most profound and memorable moments of my life as an artist.”

Reflecting on his time with the late legendary singer, the actor added, “Being in the studio with her was pure joy and contentment. I only wish she were here in person to celebrate this moment with us. But I know she is always with us in spirit, in her music, and in every life her voice continues to touch,”

Om Ka Hari, the upcoming drama-comedy directed by Harish Vyas, will feature what is set to be Asha Bhosle’s final recorded film song as a playback singer. The legendary singer recorded the track in late 2023, when she was over 90, lending her iconic vocals to the song.

The film explores the emotional bond between a father and his son. Director Harish Vyas expressed his thoughts on featuring Asha Bhosle’s final feature film song, saying, “Launching the song on her birthday is intended as a celebration of Asha Ji’s timeless voice, her immense legacy and the generations of listeners whose lives her music has touched.”

Asha Bhosle breathed her last in April this year following a prolonged illness.
