The phrase “Look at you, just look at you now” refers to her 2020 hit Look At Her Now, which was seemingly related to her breakup.

I Said I Love You First was released on March 21. Taking to social media about her first professional collaboration with Blanco, Selena stated, “Benny, thank you for being my own personal journal throughout this process. These songs represent our past, present and future… something I can’t wait to experience with you from now until forever. Thank you for pouring your unconditional love into creating this project with me.”
