EPIC – First Semester appears to be a deeply personal journey told through the lens of young adulthood. Anand Deverakonda’s character Aditya reflects the experiences of many NRI students, thousands of whom hail from the Telugu States. Time spent studying overseas often allows youngsters to grow, stumble and rediscover themselves. Directed by Aditya Hasan, the film seems to chronicle one such life.
Going by the teaser, the story explores the emotional weight of family responsibilities and the pressure of managing educational debts while living abroad. It carries the feel of a sincere coming-of-age drama that captures the uneasy transition into real-world accountability.

Director Aditya Hasan appears to bring a fresh and distinct creative energy to the project. If he proves to be a filmmaker with an authentic voice rather than one shaped by imitation, he could emerge as a promising new-age storyteller. The chemistry between the lead pair looks natural and effortless. Vaishnavi Chaitanya, who reunites with her Baby co-star, plays a character named Kadali.

This production seems keen to return to a more heartfelt style of storytelling at a time when love stories are becoming rarer. Unlike many modern romances that feel fleeting, this one hints at a tale rooted in lasting bonds. EPIC – First Semester, which is being is produced by Suryadevara Naga Vamsi and Sai Soujanya, also stars Sivaji and Vasuki in supporting roles.
While the narrative touches upon cultural identity, it avoids heavy-handed messaging. The film features music by Hesham Abdul Wahab, with a soundtrack designed to reflect every stage of romance. Audiences can expect soulful melodies along with poignant heartbreak numbers. The makers have also revealed that the climax will lead into a sequel titled EPIC – Final Semester. While the teaser includes a subtle bedroom moment, the team has clarified that the film remains suitable for family audiences.
