Karan Johar, Akshay Kumar and more have announced the release date for Kesari Chapter 2. The movie is slated to release on April 18, 2025. The movie will explore the life of C Sankaran Nair, who fought against the British Raj and uncovered the truth behind the horrific Jallianwala Bagh massacre. It is based on the book The Case That Shook The Empire by Raghu Palat and Pushpa Palat. Raghu Palat is the great-grandson of C Sankaran Nair.

The makers and the actors released a video, with the in-video caption, “A revolution painted in courage.” The caption, alongside the video, read, “Kuch ladaaiyan hathiyaaron se nahi ladi jaati (Some fights are not fought with weapons) #KesariChapter2 teaser out on 24th March.” The first instalment, Kesari, was released six years ago. It explored the story of 21 Sikh soldiers from the British Indian Army who defended Saragarhi against 10,000 Afghan tribesmen in 1897. Akshay Kumar, as Ishar Singh, led the movie.Recently, Karan Johar opened up about Kesari 2 and noted, “The director did nothing else but put his head down and work relentlessly on his film combating pandemic delays and other unforeseen circumstances. I am inspired by the team of actors and technicians who gave the film and the team so much consistent support and love. One can never predict commercial success BUT what I can say with all my heart is that this film is one of Dharma’s proudest films. I say this as a filmmaker and an audience. I pray for the team that the audience is coloured in the colour of their passion. See you at the movies.”
