In a fresh twist to the Kim Soo Hyun-Kim Sae Ron controversy, the South Korean actor’s agency Gold Medalist has filed a criminal lawsuit against the operator of Garo Sero Research Institute and the late actress’ family members.
As per a statement released by the agency, “GOLD MEDALIST, as the agency managing actor Kim Soo Hyun, has filed a criminal complaint against Kim Sae-eui, the operator of the YouTube channel Garo Sero Research Institute (hereinafter referred to as ‘Garo Sero’), who posted a photo of actor Kim Soo Hyun taken with his pants down during a live broadcast on his YouTube channel today. The criminal complaint is also pertaining to the bereaved family of the late actress Kim Sae Ron and an unidentified individual claiming to be Kim Sae Ron’s aunt, who allegedly provided the photo to Kim Sae-eui, leading him to post it. The charges include violations of the Act on Special Cases Concerning the Punishment, etc. of Sexual Crimes (distribution of footage filmed using cameras, etc.).”
The agency further argued that the photo was taken when Soo Hyun and Sae Ron were in a relationship and there was no reason to make it public. The photo in question was leaked last week. The photo shows him in her kitchen with his back towards the camera. The actor is partially nude in the photo. He can be seen doing dishes, wearing only a black t-shirt. The lower part of his body is naked.

The controversy began when Kim Sae Ron committed suicide last month at the age of 24. Following her death, the actress’ family alleged that Soo Hyun got into a relationship with her when she was only 15. However, the actor’s agency put out a statement confirming that they dated but claimed that the relationship did not start when she was a minor, but when she was an adult. Besides the dating fiasco, a letter was also leaked where the late actress had reached out to Soo Hyun, asking for his help, but the latter did not respond. These revelations were shared by the YouTube channel Hoverlab or Garo Sero Institute.
