He recently announced himself as cancer-free; however, three months after his announcement, the actor passed away at the age of 78. His family confirmed the news of his sudden death as ‘unexpected’ but ruled out cancer as the reason behind it.
Sam Neill’s cause of death revealed
Sam Neill’s Hunt for the Wilderpeople co-star Rima Te Wiata recently revealed that the 78-year-old actor contracted pneumonia before his death. Rima spoke to the New Zealand Herald and revealed that Neill had a significantly weekend immune system. Speaking about the same, she said:
“I think he would be like: ‘For goodness sake, I got over my cancer. And now look, now I get pneumonia. What next?’ He’s on his big journey now.”
