Sanjay Leela Bhansali Wraps Love and War Shoot After Two Years With Ranbir Alia And Vicky Kaushal

Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s much-awaited Love & War has officially wrapped its shoot after months of filming and multiple schedule changes. The romantic war drama, headlined by Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal, will now enter post-production ahead of its theatrical release on January 21, 2027.


The film went on floors on November 7, 2024, and was shot across several schedules, with its final leg commencing in August 2026. With filming now complete, Love & War has reached a significant milestone and continues to remain one of the most anticipated films on the Bollywood calendar.


Bhansali and the team reportedly marked the completion of the shoot with an emotional farewell for the entire unit. With filming officially wrapped, the filmmaker will now focus on the film’s post-production.

Love & WarBhansali has envisioned Love & War as a grand global spectacle, combining lavish production and large-scale staging with an intimate human conflict at its core. The film has generated significant anticipation, driven by the director’s distinctive visual style and its star-studded cast.


Love & War was initially slated to release on Christmas 2025, before being pushed to 2026. The release was later postponed once again, with the film now scheduled to hit theatres during the Republic Day weekend in January 2027.


Love & War marks the first collaboration between Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal in a Sanjay Leela Bhansali directorial. While the makers have kept the plot and characters largely under wraps, the combination of the three stars with Bhansali has made the film one of the most anticipated Hindi projects.

With no footage or first glimpse released yet, curiosity continues to build around its look, scale and overall treatment. Bhansali’s signature storytelling, grand visuals and emotionally charged filmmaking have further heightened expectations for how he brings together the three actors in this ambitious romantic war drama.


The film will release in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.
