VIRAL: Aamir Khan Vidya Balan and more meet New Zealands Prime Minister Christopher Luxon

In a new development, Aamir Khan, Vidya Balan, Siddharth Roy Kapur, Ronnie Screwvala, and Ashutosh Gowariker recently met with New Zealand’s Prime Minister Christopher Luxon. They caught up for a discussion on exploring filming locations and collaborations between India and New Zealand. This opens up the possibility of Indian films being shot in New Zealand.

Prime Minister Luxon took to Instagram to share a selfie with Aamir Khan, Vidya Balan, Ashutosh Gowariker and more. He captioned the post, “The film scene brings money into our economy, creating jobs and growing incomes – and I want to see more of that. So it was great to catch up with a few Bollywood stars to get their thoughts on what more we can do!”

Vidya Balan also posted on her Instagram stories. Sharing the selfie, she wrote “Was lovely to meet you, Prime Minister.” The photo soon went viral, and fans are already speculating over Indian films being shot in New Zealand. Several iconic films including The Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit and Avatar franchises have been shot in the country.

What was the meeting about?

As per reports on a leading news portal, RH Christopher Luxon personally extended invites to Bollywood insiders for a chat about considering New Zealand as a destination for Indian films.

Indian films shot in New Zealand

Ahead of the new partnership, it’s worth looking at some Indian films that were shot in New Zealand. Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai starring Hrithik Roshan and Ameesha Patel filmed in the country with iconic scenes set in Queenstown and Christchurch. Parts of Imran Khan and Sonam Kapoor starrer I Hate Luv Storys was also shot in Queenstown with scenes featuring the waterfront.
Kannappa had some scenes that were filmed in Wanaka. Meanwhile, Ram Charan and Kiara Advani starrer Game Changer was also partly shot in New Zealand.
