South African footballer Jayden Adams’ sudden death has left his fans in complete shock. For those unaware, he passed away at the age of 25 on July 11, 2026. He was considered one of the budding talents from his country and had also recently played at the 2026 FIFA World Cup just weeks before his death. Why did Jayden Adams say he had to fix his attitude and that he got his ‘punishment’ before his death?
Back in 2024, Jayden Adams was called up to the Bafana Bafana team that was preparing to face Congo in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier. However, his late arrival there led the footballer to be excluded from the national team by coach Hugo Broos. He was snubbed for a year before he finally got the chance to play again in the international friendlies against Panama.
At the time, Jayden admitted that thanks to Hugo Broos’ zero tolerance policy for indiscipline, he learned a valuable lesson and worked on improving his attitude.
