Hollywood star Will Smith is reportedly in talks to join director Atlee’s highly anticipated sci-fi epic Raaka. The Oscar-winning actor has allegedly been approached to portray the film’s primary antagonist and is expected to shoot his portions at an international location. If the reports turn out to be true, Raaka could mark Smith’s debut in Indian cinema.
According to a Mid-Day report, Will Smith could officially join Raaka ahead of the film’s next shooting schedule. A source told the publication that the actor’s dates are currently being worked out, with the overseas location to be finalised based on his availability. His costumes have reportedly already been locked, while the crew is said to be looking forward to the upcoming schedule.
However, these details are based solely on reports at this stage and the makers have not yet issued any official confirmation.
Despite earlier reports ruling out his involvement, the publication has confirmed that Shah Rukh Khan is indeed part of Raaka. The superstar is reportedly set to join the film’s international schedule later this year. “He is currently shooting the final song for King and will face the camera for Raaka after September,” the source revealed.
Reports indicate that Allu Arjun could be seen in four different roles in the film a grandfather, a father and two sons with the narrative potentially delving into the concept of a parallel universe. However, the makers are yet to officially confirm these character details. The sci-fi action drama boasts a star-studded ensemble, featuring Deepika Padukone, Rashmika Mandanna, Janhvi Kapoor and Mrunal Thakur in pivotal roles.
The film, which was earlier being referred to by its working title AA22xA6, was officially titled Raaka on April 8, marking Allu Arjun’s 44th birthday. Along with the title announcement, the makers also dropped the first-look poster, showcasing the actor in an intense and strikingly different avatar.
