Yash Reacts to Toxic Vs Dhurandhar 2 Box-office Clash

The much-discussed March 19, 2026 box-office showdown between Dhurandhar 2 (Dhurandhar: The Revenge) and Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups was eventually averted after the Yash-starrer was postponed to June 4, 2026. The change left the Ranveer Singh-starrer with a solo release window at the box office. Initially, both big-ticket films were expected to arrive in a high-profile head-on clash. However, the makers of Toxic subsequently changed its release date to August 28, citing production-related factors and scheduling adjustments.

Yash addresses the controversy

Yash,  who is currently promoting Toxic, has now reflected on the comparisons and headlines surrounding the proposed clash. The superstar clarified that he has never deliberately sought out a clash with another film. “Jo bhi clashes aap bol rahe hain, woh clash maine seedha jaake kabhi nahi kiya. Mera date announce hua hota hai, uske baad koi agar aayega toh woh clash hota hai,” he said, explaining that a clash only occurs when another film chooses to release after his date has already been announced.

Yash also admitted that the eventual postponement of Toxic came as a disappointment for the team. While the clash generated considerable buzz, the actor suggested that the circumstances surrounding the release dates were beyond his control.

Nonchalant about box office losses

Continuing in the same vein, Yash also insisted that box-office numbers do not concern him as much as delivering a film that lives up to the audience’s expectations. “Zindagi mein mujhe khone ka kuch hai hi nahin, toh mujhe dar hai hi nahin,” he said, adding that he has little reason to fear failure.

The KGF star further clarified that even a significant dip in his film’s box-office collections does not affect him personally. “People think that I get affected if my film loses Rs 100 or Rs 200 crore in collections. No. I had nothing in my pockets, so whatever I have now is a bonus,” Yash explained.
