Lily, who resided in Oakdale, New South Wales, Australia, didn’t return home, prompting her family member to report her missing.
An extensive search operation began, which involved several agencies. Eight days later, the search operation ended as Lily’s family was provided with the devastating news about her death. Lily Hooper, who has been described as a skilled bushwalker, left her home eight days ago and went missing. Following the missing report and eventual search operation, on August 20, 2026, her vehicle was found near a walking trail on the “fairly rugged terrain” of Wanganderry Road in the western part of Nattai National Park. According to the authorities, while Lily was an experienced hiker, what supplies she had at the time couldn’t be determined.
