Bank alert exposed the fraud
According to reports, Kirti received an instant bank alert notifying her of an overseas transaction worth $2,525 made to Aeromexico Airlines. Alarmed by the unexpected charge, she immediately contacted her bank’s customer care. Upon reviewing her account, bank officials reportedly discovered four unauthorized foreign transactions linked to her credit card. The card was blocked immediately to prevent any further misuse.
Kirti subsequently lodged a complaint with the police. Mumbai’s Amboli Police have registered a case against unidentified persons and launched an investigation. Initial findings suggest a case of digital financial fraud, as the actress reportedly did not share her PIN or banking credentials with anyone. Cyber investigators are examining her transaction history and digital activity to identify those responsible. Given her public profile, investigators are also looking into the possibility of impersonation and other forms of cybercrime.
Continuing her work in cinema
On the professional front, Kirti was last seen in Full Plate, directed by Tannishtha Chatterjee. The film premiered at the Busan International Film Festival before opening the Indian Film Festival of Sydney, earning appreciation on the festival circuit. Speaking to Filmfare in an earlier interview, Kirti reflected on the lessons she has learned throughout her career.
“If you are someone who is aware and wishes to learn and grow in life, you will always look back at situations and remember what they have taught you. I am a person driven by heart. My work feels like home to me.” She added that over the years she realised not everyone approaches their profession with the same emotional investment, a lesson that helped shape her perspective.
