Production on Salman Khan’s upcoming action film, tentatively titled SVC63, is gathering pace in Mumbai. Actor Muzammil Ibrahim, best known for his role in the Special Ops franchise, has officially joined the cast. He will star alongside Bollywood superstar Salman Khan and acclaimed actress Nayanthara in a pivotal role. Ibrahim’s addition comes months after the project was officially announced and just a couple of days into its Mumbai schedule.
Crucial schedule underway
The film, whose title is yet to be officially announced, is currently slated for a theatrical release in March 2027. Instead of shooting on location, the production team has constructed an elaborate replica of an Afghan village at Prime Focus Studio in Goregaon. As per media reports, the set features mud-covered structures, aged architecture and narrow alleys designed to serve as the backdrop for several major action sequences. Filming for this crucial schedule began on August 6 and is expected to continue until early September.
Senior actor Jackie Shroff is also expected to join the team during the Mumbai schedule. His character is said to play a pivotal role in the central narrative. Following the completion of this schedule, Khan will transition to his television hosting duties for Bigg Boss 20. He is expected to return to complete the remaining patchwork for SVC63 between September and October. The film is being planned as a worldwide theatrical release during Eid 2027.
Salman Khan’s gesture
Reports indicate that Salman accepted an upfront fee of Rs 70 crore for the project. The amount is reportedly lower than his usual market fee, which industry sources often estimate at over Rs 120 crore.
Salman is simultaneously working on Maatrubhumi: May War Rest in Peace, co-starring Chitrangda Singh. The film is inspired by the 2020 Galwan Valley clash, with Khan portraying Colonel Santosh Babu. The actor was last seen opposite Rashmika Mandanna in director AR Murugadoss’ action drama Sikandar.
