Eight years after the monumental release of Robot 2.0, Akshay Kumar will return once again as the antagonist in Haiwaan. Since the initial release of the teaser for Haiwaan, the audiences have been eagerly waiting for further glimpses into this new grim world.
The trailer for Haiwaan is finally out, and we are quickly introduced to an iconic monologue by Akshay Kumar. The trailer produces a dark, and suspenseful theme around which we will get to witness a chase between the hero (Saif Ali Khan) and the Haiwaan (Akshay Kumar). Haiwaan is an official remake of the 2016 Malayalam crime-thriller, Oppam, which was also directed by Priyadarshan.
Priyadarshan And Akshay Kumar are popularly known for their iconic collaborations over the years with a catalogue of timeless hits, including, Hera Pheri, Bhool Bhulaiyaa, Garam Masala, and Bhagam Bhag. Just a few months prior, they made a return with Bhoot Nath which released in April 2026. Saif Ali khan on the other hand will be working with Priyadarshan for the very first time in his career.
The background score is filled with tension and a sense of evil events trailing in alliance to produce an antagonizing climax. While Akshay Kumar takes on one of his eeriest roles yet, Saif will take on a rather intriguing role of a blind man. To add further weight to this already star-studded cast, Boman Irani will be seen in the avatar of a judge while Saiyami Kher will take on the role of a cop. The cast also includes other talents such as Shriya Pilgaonkar, Rajpal Yadav, Sharib Hashmi, Rajesh Sharma, Pahal Chaudhary, and Manoj Joshi.
One question is sure to stick with you after watching this enthralling trailer, and that is, who would possibly emerge victorious and who would succumb to the failures of their methods. Haiwaan is set to release in theatres on September 11, 2026.
