Emraan Hashmiâs Awarapan 2 Becomes His Highest-grossing Solo Film in Just 3 Days

There seems to be no stopping Emraan Hashmi’s Awarapan 2 at the box office. The film hasn’t even completed a week in the theatres and has already achieved a major milestone. On its opening day, Awarapan 2 collected Rs 22 crore, followed by Rs 33.75 crore on Day 2. According to Sacnilk, the film earned Rs 26 crore on Day 3, taking its total India nett collection to Rs 81.75 crore and its worldwide gross collection to Rs 110.10 crore.

With these numbers, Awarapan 2 has surpassed the lifetime collection of The Dirty Picture, which had collected Rs 80 crore. Remarkably, the sequel has crossed that benchmark in just three days.
The film has also raced past several of Emraan Hashmi’s other notable box-office performers. Baadshaho collected approximately Rs 70.10 crore during its theatrical run, while Raaz 3 earned around Rs 70.07 crore and Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai collected approximately Rs 55.47 crore.
In just three days, Awarapan 2 has surpassed the lifetime collections of these films, and its momentum shows no signs of slowing down. The film has now become Emraan Hashmi’s highest-grossing solo film in India, marking a significant new milestone in the actor’s career.
Directed by Nitin Kakkar and produced by Vishesh Bhatt, Awarapan 2 brings Hashmi back as Shivam Pandit. The film also features Shabana Azmi, Disha Patani and Suvinder Vicky.

Filmfare’s Review of Awarapan 2

Filmfare’s reviewer wrote in his review, “What makes it all very much tolerable and mildly engaging is the visual tapestry. The cinematography by Vishnu Rao and his team is stupendous. Some of the early wide frames belong in a film that could have found a Cannes audience, had the writing been a little more original. That’s why the visual imagery of Awarapan 2.0 is unmistakably one of its main strengths. What’s also very cool is to watch Shabana Azmi play a Mafia Queen with confidence and pizzazz. The very sight of her, draped like a Luc Besson character, is so much fun. Sadly, the screenplay doesn’t give her much, but even so, she delivers her half-dozen one-liners with magical effect.”
