Some Filmfare memories stay with you for years, and Farah Khan recently revisited one of hers with choreographers Bosco Martis and Caesar Gonsalves. The duo, who recently completed 25 years in the industry, welcomed Farah as the first guest on their podcast, Dance Masti, where they looked back at their first meeting at the Filmfare Awards.
Farah recalled meeting Bosco and Caesar when she was choreographing the 36th Filmfare Awards for the first time. As part of the opening act, the dancers were dressed in black leotards and posed like the iconic Filmfare trophy, the Black Lady.
During the conversation, Caesar asked Bosco if he remembered the pose, referring to the signature Filmfare trophy stance. “Even then we used to stand like this for them,” he said, before Bosco joked, “And even today we stand like this.”
Farah then shared her memory of meeting the duo for the first time. “Let me tell you, I met these boys in 1992. There, I first time I was choreographing the Filmfare Awards. We overnight made those black leotards. And everyone had to stand,” she recalled. She also had a sweet compliment for the two choreographers, adding, “You all were cute looking. You all are still very good looking.”
Bosco and Caesar’s association with the Filmfare Awards began when they worked as backup dancers, with earlier accounts placing their audition for the 36th Filmfare Awards in 1991.
Years later, the duo would go on to build a successful career together, choreographing several popular Bollywood songs and winning major honours.
