After staying away from the screen for nearly a decade, Imran Khan is reflecting on the experiences and lessons that shaped his time away. The actor opened up about the film that earned him his biggest paycheque but turned out to be his most difficult experience. In a candid interview, Imran spoke about money, setting boundaries and learning to walk away from projects that no longer align with him, regardless of how much they offer.
During a recent conversation, Imran Khan reflected on the film that earned him his highest-ever pay cheque but turned out to be his most miserable experience. He said, “The film I made that specifically gave me my highest pay cheque in my life, was also the most miserable film I made.. the process of making it. That taught me the lesson of how much is that money worth and how much is your time and peace of mind worth. What’s your trade-off point? What’s the point where where you say, ‘Keep the money’”
The experience seems to have changed the way Imran approaches work, the actor now sets firm boundaries regardless of the money he is getting. He explained, “When someone says, ‘Take this money and do this’, I say no, I won’t do that for your money. You will reach a point somewhere, to the idea that there is a price, but I would like to think that we also have a like that we won’t cross for the money. Even if the price is double, or three times the money, I still won’t do that.”
Imran’s take has offered fresh insight into a split that initially appeared sudden. He also admitted that his years away from the industry were less about leaving it behind and more about taking time to understand and find himself.
