Lokesh Kanagaraj’s DC has officially completed filming. Backed by Sun Pictures and directed by Arun Matheswaran, the project reached the milestone with a quiet celebration that was shared online by the makers.
Posting pictures of the cast and crew cutting a cake, the team wrote, “DC shoot wrapped, are you ready,” accompanied by a gun and a rose emoji. The phrasing hints at an imminent promotional update, with a teaser or trailer likely to follow.
The film features Lokesh Kanagaraj in the lead as Devadas, alongside Wamiqa Gabbi as Chandra and Sanjana Krishnamoorthy. Early glimpses had suggested a narrative centred on a man navigating a troubled inner world, with his path intersecting with the two women in ways that drive the film’s conflict.

Post-Production Underway as Film Holds Back Details
With principal photography now complete, DC moves into post-production. The makers have so far kept plot specifics and details of the extended cast under wraps, but the material released to date points toward a character-driven action drama with a darker tonal register.
The film’s technical team includes composer Anirudh Ravichander, cinematographer Mukesh G, editor GK Prasanna and art director S Kannan, with action choreography by PC Stunts. The additional screenplay is credited to Arun Ranjan, while dialogues are by Arun Matheswaran and Franklin Jacob.
For Sun Pictures, DC marks another collaboration with Lokesh Kanagaraj after Coolie, starring Rajinikanth. The banner continues to back a mix of large-scale and mid-scale projects, with DC positioned as a more contained, mood-driven film within its slate.
Arun Matheswaran’s previous film, Captain Miller, starred Dhanush and Priyanka Mohan. The director is also set to helm a biopic on Ilaiyaraaja, again with Dhanush in the lead.
With the shoot now wrapped and post-production progressing, attention is expected to shift toward the film’s first full promotional material in the coming weeks.
