Famous mountaineer Nirmal ‘Nimsdai’ Purja was one of the 10 mountaineers, who met with the deadly fate during the avalance on Broad Peak in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir on July 30, 2026. His mortal remains arrived in the United Kingdom and on August 26, 2026, his funeral was held in the presence of his close family members and friends.

Nims Purja’s last rites were held at British Forces Brunei and the ceremony was attended by the family to pay their final respects. He was the former Gurkha and UK Special Forces member, and he left the military to follow his heart and went on to become the world-renowned mountaineer.
