Om Ka Hari Trailer Out: Anshuman Jha and Raghubir Yadav Bring Alive Bollywoodâs Oldest Rivalry

The trailer for Om Ka Hari is here, and it dives straight into a fight as old as time. Father vs son. Directed by Harish Vyas, the film stars Anshuman Jha and Raghubir Yadav in the lead roles, with Soni Razdan and Ayesha Kapur rounding out the cast.

The story kicks off with Hari Prasad (Raghubir Yadav), who survives a medical scare and becomes convinced his days are numbered. So, he does what any dramatic Indian parent would do. He decides to spend his final days in Varanasi. Dragged along for the ride is his son Om (Anshuman Jha), a man who loves his father fiercely and argues with him just as fiercely.

What follows is equal parts chaos and catharsis. The trailer promises old resentments, unspoken love, and a whole lot of family drama simmering just beneath the surface. It starts as a question about death. It ends up asking something harder: what do you do with the life you’ve still got?

Raghubir Yadav opened up about stepping into Hari’s shoes, he said, “A father and son can disagree about almost everything and still be deeply connected. Hari thinks he is going to Varanasi to prepare for death. What he doesn’t realise is that the journey is going to make him look at his life. He is stubborn, opinionated and sometimes completely impossible, but beneath all of that is a father who loves, just doesn’t know how to express it.”

Anshuman Jha echoed the sentiment and said, “What makes Om Ka Hari special is that it doesn’t romanticise family. Sometimes the person you fight with the most is also the person you love the most. Om is not someone who easily accepts what his father says or does, and that is what makes their relationship complicated.”

Soni Razdan summed up the film’s heart perfectly and added, “Om Ka Hari is that rare film about a dysfunctional family that, despite all the chaos, conflicts and complications, somehow manages to hold itself together. Because sometimes, family doesn’t have to be perfect to work, it just has to be there.”

Director Harish Vyas revealed what drew him to the story and stated, “I have always been fascinated by the different ways we experience love, and especially by the ways we fail to express it. With Om Ka Hari, I wanted to explore the one relationship where saying ‘I love you’ can somehow feel the most difficult, between a father and his son.”

Adding another layer to the film is its soundtrack, featuring voices like Asha Bhosle, Amit Kumar, Paresh Pahuja and Raghubir Yadav himself. Notably, the album carries Asha Bhosle’s final playback song, a quietly heavy addition to a film already dealing with memory and mortality.

This also marks the third time Anshuman Jha and Harish Vyas have teamed up.
