For the unversed, the 84-year-old Nancy has been missing since February 1, 2026. Recently, Savannah has reportedly hired a private investigator to find out her mom’s whereabouts. After a two-month hiatus, Savannah returned to the TODAY show on April 6, 2026. In a recent conversation, Savannah got emotional and said that the return was not easy.

In a recent conversation with Jenna Bush Hager on the TODAY show, Savannah Guthrie opened up about how she has been balancing her return to work with the daily anguish over her mom, Nancy’s disappearance. Savannah got teary-eyed in the fourth hour of TODAY, June 8, 2026, show. She mentioned that it has been really tough for her. Savannah stated that she has been trying her best to hold it together. She was quoted as saying:
“It’s really hard to come back. I’ve been trying so hard to hold it together, and I promise I will. I’m happy to be back. It’s like the two hours of my day — it’s not that I’m not thinking about it, because I am — but it’s something to do. It brings me a lot of joy to be with everybody. But no, it’s not easy.”
