Ryan Murphy is back with another show that focuses on a unique setting alongside a lot of graphic content at the same time. The Shards is out now on FX. While only two episodes have arrived so far on August 6, 2026, the content is entertaining enough to make audiences wait for the upcoming episodes.
In 1981 Los Angeles, glamour and dread sit side by side. The series adapts Bret Easton Ellis’ autofiction novel about a group of wealthy prep school seniors whose final year is fractured by a serial killer and a mysterious new student. Anchored by Igby Rigney’s restless performance, it’s stylish, uneasy, and deliberately messy. But it is a show more interested in surfaces, secrets, and performance instead of clean answers.
The Shards is a glossy, paranoid portrait of rich kids and a city on edge
