Famous footballer of Uganda, David Owori, died at the age of just 27. It happened after a fatal attack by a group of suspected robbers near his home in Kampala. He took his last breath on August 5, 2026, and the news was confirmed by the player’s club, Sports Club Villa.
David Owori was beaten to death by robbers
David Owori was assaulted after he resisted the robbers who were trying to steal his mobile phone and other belongings. As per a witness, there were a group of attackers who hit David with paving stones on July 4, 2026, before they robbed him. After which, they fled, leaving David unconscious on the road in the middle of the night.
David was a part of Uganda’s national football team. Apart from this, he was also the captain of SC Villa. After his passing in a horrific incident, his club issued a statement in response to the news, talking about David’s death. They announced the untimely passing of David at Case Clinic, where he was receiving treatment after the fatal attack by thugs. The statement can be read as:
