Deepika Padukone’s pregnancy has not disrupted the filming schedule of her pan-India project, Raaka, starring Allu Arjun. According to reports, director Atlee had meticulously planned the shoot well in advance, with Deepika’s portions scheduled on priority to avoid delays. Her maternity leave was factored into the production timeline from the outset, allowing filming to continue smoothly without any last-minute disruptions.
Deepika recently completed a schedule with co-star Allu Arjun in Mumbai. Although the film’s release date is yet to be announced, production continues to progress as planned.
Careful scheduling
Coordinating a major production around an actor’s extended absence is a significant logistical challenge. For large-scale films like Raaka, which involve expansive sets, elaborate action sequences and substantial budgets, meticulous planning is essential. By carefully structuring the schedule in consultation with Allu Arjun and the rest of the team, the makers have managed to maintain the film’s momentum while accommodating Deepika Padukone’s personal milestone.
The actress’ association with the sci-fi action entertainer was officially announced last year. The announcement video generated considerable buzz online with its high-octane background score and stylish title reveal, hinting at a significant role for Deepika in the film.
King, another major commitment
Apart from Raaka, which marks Deepika’s second collaboration with director Atlee after Jawan, the actress is also part of King. Directed by Siddharth Anand, the action drama also stars Shah Rukh Khan, Suhana Khan and Abhishek Bachchan in pivotal roles. The film is slated for a theatrical release on December 24, 2026.
Deepika enjoyed a remarkable run at the box office with Pathaan and Jawan in 2023. In 2024, she starred as an Air Force pilot in Fighter, followed by the blockbuster Kalki 2898 AD. She also joined Rohit Shetty’s Cop Universe as Shakti Shetty in Singham Again, further showcasing her versatility across large-scale commercial entertainers.
